LG Leader Guide | Week of 4.6.2025
Hello LG Leaders!
This weekend we looked at the Rich Young Ruler in Mark 10:17-31. We saw that Jesus’ love for the man confronted his idolatry and Jesus does the same for us. His love necessitates a confrontation with anything that would seek to destroy us and draw us away from his heart. May we lean into Jesus this week as we take stock and ask the Lord…would I walk away grieved to let go of something? Or would I obey and follow Him with Joy? Check it out here! This week’s discussion guide and kids guide are posted.

Lifegroup Best Practice of the Week:
Remind Your Face What Your Heart Believes! Sometimes when I get to LG, I’m exhausted, don’t necessarily want to be there or at the very least I have six other things I know I could be doing. It’s ok to feel like that. It’s NOT ok to transmit that heart and attitude to your group especially through poor vision being cast…or great vision being cast with a complete lack of joy or enthusiasm. So, whenever you cast vision, simply remember to smile and greet them how you’d like to be greeted. Coach yourself! Why are you downcast oh my soul! Wake up to the reality of the good news! Remember the joy of your salvation and what Jesus has done for you! We’re not saying that you need to be fake, work yourself up, or hide what’s really going on. Not at all! Be honest with your group with where you’re at, but do it with perspective…use your own struggle to help them find their way out of their own. This sometimes means we need 10 or 15 minutes prior to LG to take a moment of quiet, pray, and ask God to envision us for LG through scripture. If you’re at the bottom of the barrel, call your section Leader or one of your pastors and say “Help! Remind me why I’m doing this!” and they will do so! Without judgement too because they’ve been there before themselves. We love you leaders!
We are so thankful for the variety of ways that you lead and love on the body of Christ at Antioch Dallas! Have a question or concern about something? I’m always happy to hear from you.
Grace and peace,
Donny Tapie
