LG Leader Guide | Week of 4.20.2025

Hello LG Leaders!

He is risen! Sunday was so encouraging and full of resurrection life! From our early childhood kids leading a song of worship in service to the baptisms and testimonies we celebrated to the new people who got connected our church family…Jesus is alive and moving among us! If you were out of town, listen to the sermon here, Joe did a great job helping us to see why the resurrection matters to us. This week’s Discussion Guide and Kid’s Guide are posted.

Lifegroup Best Practice of the Week:

Keep Jesus in the center of everything! No matter what you’re doing in LG any given week, whether leading a portion of it or delegating to others, always lead in a way which points back to Jesus as the reason for everything we do in LG. How so? Here are some examples:

1) Casting vision for thankfulness as worship during an LG worship time? Well, we’re not here to be thankful in general or to the “universe” for our lot in life…we practice thankfulness towards God for everything in order to orient ourselves rightly to Him as our source of life and hope. Our perspective shapes our view of reality.

2) Has D-group become “catch-up time” where we give each other life advice? Take time to read scripture together and remind everyone we’re here to submit to the way of Jesus laid out in scripture…pick a few verses and walk through them using the DBS method so we’re formed by scripture rather than our own wisdom.

3) Have someone (or yourself) feeling burnt out for the kids time/lesson? Pray and ask God to remind yourself/them how Jesus interacted with children…he said the kingdom of heaven belongs to them and we must become like them in order to enter the kingdom of heaven! Invest in the next generation intentionally!

When we faithfully point and direct ourselves and one another toward Jesus he takes up the place as our King and chief shepherd. Bless you as you lead and point people to Jesus this week!

We’re so thankful for you!

Grace and peace,

Donny Tapie
