LG Leader Guide | Week of 4.27.2025

Hello LG Leaders,

On Sunday we learned about a man who encountered Jesus, named Bartimaeus, in Mark 10:46-52. He was physically blind but spiritually could see Jesus clearer than anyone around him, including the disciples. He is a model scripture gives us for how we ought to see and perceive Jesus. If you were out of town or missed it, listen to the sermon here. This week’s Discussion Guide and Kid’s Guide are posted.

  • PRAYER UPDATE ON MEGHAN MILLER: Meghan was moved from the ER to the ICU last night to monitor her breathing. Her breathing has strengthened (praise God!) and she’ll be transferred today to the Neurology department for additional testing. Bloodwork and tests haven’t revealed a diagnosis. She has a 3-hour CT scan of her spine scheduled today to investigate her spinal cord & nerves. She also needs another test, but the hospital only does one daily so pray this get’s scheduled soon. They’ll start a 5-day treatment today and monitor how she responds, so they’ll likely stay at the hospital through the weekend. You can continue to support them practically by praying (the greatest need!) and giving to help with expenses. Pray for miraculous healing, renewed hope, wisdom for the doctors, and strength for Mark, Meghan, and their family!

Lifegroup Best Practice of the Week:

Lead out of the love of God. You cannot love others as God loves them if you do not take time and space yourself to be reminded of, sit in, enjoy, and be filled by the love that God has for you. It’s God’s delight to love you and communicate his love to you as his beloved son or daughter. Take time every day to be with Jesus…to walk with him in relationship. Nothing is more important than this as it is the starting point for our relationship with Jesus each day, even more so before any act of leadership we endeavor to take on. If you haven’t done that recently or have gotten out of the habit….NO shame or guilt. Simply take him up on his invitation to be in his presence now…today. Every day his mercy toward us is new and his invitation to be with him, just like a good father, is always there. “We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

Bless you as you lead and point people to Jesus this week!

Grace and peace,

Donny Tapie
