LG Leader Guide | Week of 1.25.26

Lifegroup Leaders,

Hope y’all have stayed warm and safe during the winter storm!

Way to go on preparing the way for the LORD. I’ve heard so many people are jumping in, even when it’s hard during the winter weather.

God is doing amazing things in our midst. We are almost full on 24/7 prayer slots! Feel free to double up, even if there is someone already covering it.

A few themes I’ve heard people share so far during the fast:

  • It’s been challenging to lay down media during the winter storm, but God’s helped me to rely on Him more.

  • People turning to God as their first and primary Comforter, rather than other comforts.

  • Families and Lifegroups are praying for God to “Make Straight” a highway in the desert for the challenges they are facing. God is the only one who can lower mountains, raise valleys, and move boulders.

  • Joy in the LORD has surprised and strengthened people during prayer slots.

Excited to seek God together and build a highway for His presence in our hearts, church, and city.

Here is how we’re fasting:

  • Week One: Food & Media - fasting from food in some way, and abstaining from non-essential media (shows, social media, sports, secular books, etc.)

  • Week Two: 24/7 Prayer & Media - Sign up here for one or more hour prayer slots for our church to pray 24/7 during week 2!

  • Week Three: Outreach & Media - We want to reach out to others this week by giving generously to the needy, blessing our neighbors, and sharing Jesus. See the appendix in the booklet for ideas.

In the Wilderness

On Sunday, the sermon focused on God preparing the way in the wilderness.

Wilderness means increased dependency on God!

  • If you’re able to meet in person, the discussion guide is up for you to do in your Lifegroups or Dgroups.

  • If not, consider a Zoom/FaceTime prayer call all together, or breaking into smaller groups, to check in with one another.

Important Dates Upcoming:

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

In Christ,

Joe Paolino
