LG Leader Guide | Week of 5.4.2025
Hello LG Leaders,
I was deeply encouraged on Sunday to hear all that God has done in our Antioch Discipleship School this past year! Way to go ADS students for all your hard work and effort and way to go Marshall & Lacey Herndon and others who sacrificed so much to host an environment which results in so many lives transformed by the Lord! We’re proud of you all!
If you were out of town or missed it because you were serving in Kids ministry, be sure to listen to the testimonies and Marshall’s sermon on being Ambassadors of Christ here. This week’s Discussion Guide and Kid’s Guide are posted.
Important Announcements:
Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 11th! You’re welcome for the heads up! 😉
Baby Dedications are happening on May 18th! Registration closes this Sunday, May 11th!
We will send out Summer dates and plans soon! The majority of our groups shift to a more casual schedule from June through mid-August to stay connected yet to also make margin for summer plans and travel. Stay tuned.
PRAYER UPDATE ON MEGHAN MILLER: Meghan wrapped up the treatment for her suspected condition (CIDP) yesterday and it will take a bit to see if the treatment was helpful. She has a test that cannot be performed until May 20th which will confirm if it’s CIDP or point to a few other possible diagnosis. Today she is awaiting insurance approval to move to a rehab facility across the street from Baylor Hospital where she has been. Mark communicated to me how thankful they are for all the support they’ve received and specifically said “situations like this are such a powerful witness for Jesus. Can’t say thank you enough to everyone.” Thank you church for mobilizing and blessing them in so many ways thus far. Having that said, their journey is not over. Meghan will hopefully be transferred to rehab today. Prayer needs:
Pray for Mark as he balances work and wanting/needing to be present for Meghan. He’s been able to be off of work this past week but is needing to return.
Pray for peace and and pray against anxiety as the reality of all the unknowns, the demands of normal life, plus the demands of investigating and looking into her condition all add up quickly and has been exhausting.
Pray that there would be no issues with her insurance approving her rehab treatment.
Pray for miraculous healing, renewed hope for the future, and strength and endurance for Mark & Meghan and their boys, Elijah and Jackson.
Lifegroup Best Practice of the Week:
Delegate, and do it now! Feeling tired like you’re at the end of a marathon? That’s how May can often feel! Sometimes we don’t ask others for help because we don’t want to inconvenience them or we imagine they may feel like we do any given moment…but you don’t know until you ask and often people are happy, excited, and honored to contribute in a meaningful way. Besides, when we do ask others to help, host, take a portion of lifegroup, etc. it gives them ownership, helps to develop them, confirms that you’re just like the rest of us (not a superhero), and bonds us together in community because we do, in fact, need one another. Share the load!
May the Lord bless you, keep you, and make his face shine on you this week!
Grace and peace,
Donny Tapie
